Delfín obecný
Popis : delfín obecný bývá 180 sž 260 cm dlouhý, má úzkou dlouhou tlamu a v ní obyčejně 40 až 50, mnohdy až 67 zubů. zbarven bývá různě podle lokality, kde žije. Základní barva je svrchu tmavohnědá až černá. se zelenavým nádechem. Po stranách těla má šedé, žlutohnědé nebo bílé vlnité pruhy.
Vždy se spolčují v menší či větší společenství a společně a organizovaně loví. Živí se téměř výhradně rybami, které žijí ve svrchních vrstvách vod daleko od břehů. Kromě ryb požírají také hlavonožce, měkkýše a hlavonožce.
Za hodinu urazí až 35 km, nepotápějí se však do velkých hloubek, protože nevydrží tak dlouho s dechem.
Výskyt : delfín obecný žije v Atlantském a v indickém oceánu a v severních končinách Tichého oceánu. Objevuje se i po celém atlantském pobřeží Evropy, ve Středozemním moři a v Černém moři. Polárním mořím se vyhýbá.
